So, the story..

Today, as I watched the blinking lights and finally achived something like communications between the meter and the board that’s supposed to talk to the meter, I contemplated my future.

I think I don’t want to move to France, or Spokane [two different places where I could certainly get a job writing software for EVs] because I like Seattle. I don’t really want to leave here. It’s hard for me to imagine giving up my emarald city.. [though I sure like to flee during the winters].

If I ever become a rich and famous rock star, I will have several houses.. one in Seattle, one in Rome, and one in SoCal, for sure. 😉

The deadline looms ever closer. I’m pretty sure I’m not going to make it, but we won’t miss by much. And realistically, the client isn’t ever ready to do anything with the software when I get it done. I’m coding as hard as I can over here. 😉

Looking forward to band practice tomorrow. Better get to sleep now.

I have a boring life.

Your life could be worse, buddy. 🙂 At least you have your 215 IQ to keep you company. ;>

My life isn’t neccesarily, or even often, boring to me. I find my band practices, electron-pushing, work, etc all intrensically interesting, my relationship problems agonizing, etc. It’s just boring to all those of you watching me textually spew it out from the wings.

You go out and take part in animated, intriguing activities, and LiveJournal may or may not hear more than the minor part. Your life fluxes and you receive offers or opportunities with compelling details or play by play sadly missing from official sources. It’s like being exposed to 5 second intervals of a complex, original song at arbitrary times. More shared details and it very well may be a colorful, provocative, stimulating musical composition.

I don’t think there’s a law that you can only live here once.

Anyway, my guess is that you like Seattle so much because you have been so many other places, so you have something to compare it to. If you had never lived in those places you might be just as grumpy as those kids who grew up here. Also I would direct your attention to exhibit a, which is how miserable you were when you first moved here. It took a while — six months? — for you to really decide the city didn’t suck. That might be true of a number of places. Who knows?

Just things to think about. I was thinking about it the other day because if I go somewhere else it will mostly be for the experience of living in new places. I already know I love Seattle, that is not the issue…

Hell, I don’t know what is the issue (besides the utter and complete lack of work here for me). Good luck with your decisions whatever they may be.

anyway, ye olde internet goes everywhere.

I don’t think you have a boring life. Fer one thing, you make it interesting whenever it threatens to settle down.
