Anger

It seems like everyone wants to keep their anger.. At every point in a argument, everyone involved has the option to either escalate or deescalate the argument, to either make things worse or make things better. And it always seems like people, once angry, want to stay angry – and being right is more important than being happy any day.

I don’t have any idea what I’m trying to say. I’m not trying to be holier-than-thou, since obviously I do the same things, possibly even for the same reasons as everyone else. I just wish the world had less escalation than it does.

Sometimes to pacify means to let your point of view go unnoticed. Sometimes to do this serves no one.

i have this problem. i’m so brutalized by even the mildest confrontation that i’ll literally stifle my own grievances almost indefinitely rather than hurt someone’s feelings by sharing them.

I think this is a rather insightful observation. I wonder if it’s because once you’re angry about something, you feel hurt and to set aside the hurt means to abandon that self preservation thing we have inside us.

Obviously, there are different things that people argue about. Some are more important than others, I guess.

I wish I knew how to get over my anger hurriedly.
