So, I was pondering operating systems recently..<\/p>\n
Of the machines currently connected to the net at our house (note that many of these are turned off – recently, in order to save power, I decided to start using wake-on-LAN and managed powerstrips..) here is a breakdown by operating system<\/p>\n
1) Ubuntu: the.edge, peterbilt, qm<\/p>\n
2) WinXP: vm, ivy, jam, media<\/p>\n
3) Win2003: p2p<\/p>\n
4) Win2K: gamer<\/p>\n
5) AIX: aixer<\/p>\n
6) BSD: beastie<\/p>\n
7) RaQ linux: ns2<\/p>\n
8) OSX: music<\/p>\n
9) RedHat: gateway<\/p>\n
Unix-based: 8<\/p>\n
Windows: 6<\/p>\n
Also, we have two ‘guest’ computers:<\/p>\n
nonmundane.org: bsd<\/p>\n
kanvas-staging: ubuntu<\/p>\n
And, two in the process of being built:<\/p>\n
Ubuntu: underdog, halcyon<\/p>\n
